Class Gifts
Traditionally, reunion classes make a donation to COHS in the name of their class. This can be accomplished by including a place on your Reunion Event reply card for classmates to enter a class gift amount. This enables classmates who cannot attend the reunion to still participate by making a donation on behalf of their class. Gifts of all sizes are welcome. Some people may want to include the donation with their ticket payment. In that case, they need to write two checks. The check for the gift must be made out to Cardinal O’Hara High School in order to get a charitable gift tax deduction. The class gift can be given to the school as cash or your class may prefer to pick an item as a donation. You can either mail the class gift or present it in person to the Alumni Office. Please be sure all gifts are sent to the attention of Joseph Ciffa, Director of Advancement to assure acknowledgement in the O'Hara Newsletter. The Significance of
a Class Gift A
class gift is a demonstration of loyalty and support for Cardinal O’Hara on
the occasion of your reunion. As a special occasion "tribute", the
class gift is a special additional gift rather than one given "instead
of" an annual donation. Cardinal O’Hara depends on annual gifts from our
alumni to fund over $100,000 a year in scholarship and tuition aid. We need to
encourage both types of gifts. Gift
Recognition Class
gifts received by June 30 are acknowledged in the summer edition of the O’Hara
Newsletter. The listing will show a gift from the "Class of ___".
